Weekend 1

Coachella 2015- Weekend 1 Photo Album

I know this is 6 months delayed, but as some of you may know, I attended the First Weekend of Coachella this past April. I had a blast, and took a few disposable cameras with me. I completely forgot about my disposable until pretty much Day 3, so I didn’t get as many shots as I would’ve liked. I was confronted with one of the biggest dilemmas that I always find myself faced with: Do I enjoy the moment and take it in for all it is, or do I document these memories and see everything through my phone screen and camera lens? I went with “living in the moment”, and now, 6 months later when the post-Chella depression is crippling, I find myself getting angry for not taking as many pictures as I could’ve managed; although I wouldn’t change my experience for anything.

Anywho, I finally got the chance to develop the film and I’m posting not only a few of my favorite film photos, but some of the digital ones that I took on my Iphone 6. I really hope you enjoy, and thanks so much to everyone who helped make my experience this year absolutely amazing. I danced until I couldn’t walk, sang my lungs out, laughed, cried, but most of all I learned a lot about myself and my relationship with the universe. It was life-changing, and everyone’s kindness and energy was electric. I hope you all enjoy a very little glimpse into my weekend. Thank you. xx

Coachella 2015

So after a lot of convincing (and begging) my parents finally agreed to let me and one of my best friends go to Coachella this year in Indio, California. For those of you who don’t know, Coachella is this massive 3 day music and art festival that occurs every year in two weekend in april, and frankly seems like one of the coolest things ever on the history of the planet. Since tickets are pretty expensive ($375 for one GA 3 day pass) they have something called a payment plan that begins in may the year prior. I really recommend doing that, because not only do you not have to worry about paying full in cash in january a few months before the festival, but you also don’t need to stress over whether or not you’ll actually get your hands on a few tickets. That was my problem this year. After finding out the lineup -which I actually predicted the night before- dropped, I rushed to find a place to stay and asked for my mom’s credit card. Today tickets went on sale at 12pm PST, which is 1pm my time, so I skipped my afternoon classes and went home early in order to try to get some tickets. I had two laptops, two smart phones, one tablet set up to get these tickets, as well as a friend on the phone who was on a laptop and her phone, and after refreshing every single electronic  device i had at 12:59, I was sent into the standby page, where i waited for 20 minutes until one of my laptops made it into the window where you could select the quantity of tickets I wanted to purchase. Long story short we spent 3 hours trying to get some tickets but unfortunately none ever landed in my cart.

I’m not giving up just yet, maybe ill somehow meet someone willing to sell a couple of Weekend 1 tickets to me.

As for the actual lineup, many people have been talking about how awful it is when in reality, i don’t think its that bad. AC/DC is headlining which is probably the only opportunity i’ll ever get to see them live, and i’ve already seen Drake once. I personally am not a fan of Jack White, but it could be a good set anyways! As for the smaller, opener bands, I am so so stoked to see Alt-j, St. Lucia, R3hab, and Fitz and the Tantrums again, but don’t even get me started on how excited I would be so see Tame Impala, Hozier, Lykke Li, Angus and Julia Stone, Coasts, Chet Faker, Brand New, ODEZSA, St. Vincent, Glass Animals, Milky Chance, Mac DeMarco, George Ezra, Vance Joy, Florence and the Machine, and so many other bands and musicians.

So I’m not losing hope and I’m still going strong. I’ll do whatever I can to get in to Coachella this year, and by any means if anyone reading is selling or knows something who is selling their tickets please contact me!

Comment below and let me know who you’re most excited to see at Coachella 2015, and what you think about the lineup. Thanks so much for reading, and hopefully I’ll see you all on the Empire Polo Fields in April! Good Luck. xx
