The 70’s Are Back- Fall Fashion Trends 2015

Hey there, cool cats! I’ve been paying some extra attention to trends this season because most of it is 70’s inspired, which is one of my favorite things EVER. There’s been a comeback of a lot of fabrics that I’m in love with, especially suede, corduroy, and of course a fall’s favorite: velvet. I’ve recently just moved to downtown Phoenix, which is overall a lot trendier than where I lived before, so I’ve been super excited of all of these new pieces out on the street. Here are hands down my favorite trends for this season!

Tops

Ribbed Turtlenecks

One of my favorite things to wear turtlenecks with is a denim circle skirt or even a denim button front skirt. I love ribbed turtlenecks because they give a vintage, 70’s feel. I prefer brightly colored tops like Silence + Noise Cassie Turtleneck Sweater in Gold from Urban Outfitters (on the right), but I also really enjoyed the Heather Grey Contemporary Ribbed Knit Turtleneck from Forever 21!

Skirts

Button Front Skirts

I started seeing this style of skirt towards the end of summer when my friend Ash fell in love with her denim button front skirt from H&M. Alexa Chung in the far left photo is wearing a denim skirt almost identical to Topshop’s Button Front A-Line Skirt; and if you like the longer length style Topshop has the perfect skirt for you, too! Marina and the Diamonds wears a black denim skirt that you can find at American Apparel. This style of skirt is also very popular in suede and corduroy as well!

Pleated Skirts

Maxi, midi, and even mini pleated skirts are super in this season. They can be dressed up with heels and a blouse and even dressed down in booties. My favorites are Ecote Anika Pleated Midi in teal from UO which is on sale for $50 and Silence + Noise Silky Pleated Midi Skirt which is also from UO!

Jeans & Bottoms

Flared Jeans

I know flare jeans were a bit of a controversy in the fashion world as soon as they made a comeback, and although I love my skinny jeans I think flare jeans are super cute and give a nice bohemian feel to any outfit. Some of my favorites include the Free People Highland High Rise Flare in Oxblood and the American Eagle Hi-Rise Artist Flare in Dark Indigo which are currently on sale for $20! I love to pair my flare jeans with an embroidered peasant top and some platforms to bring out my inner Penny Lane.

Velvet Bell Bottoms

This past September, I was able to see the beautiful and eccentric Zella Day in concert, and she graced us with a pair of stunning black velvet bell bottoms. It’s easy to say that everyone fell in love with her outfit, and I found a few affordable velvet bell bottoms that are super cute and trendy. Both of these pairs are from Gypsy Warrior, the ones on the right are the Dark Magic Velvet Bell Bottoms and the ones on the left are the Spellcraft Bell Bottoms in Burgundy.

Wide Leg Denim Overalls

Denim overalls have made a HUGE comeback this year, and I’ve started seeing more and more flared and wide leg overalls! My favorites are Dittos Delilah Denim Overalls and Stoned Immaculate Summertime Blues 70’s Overalls.  I am obsessed with how the Stoned Immaculate overalls are paired with a retro striped long sleeve top and I found a few similar ones at Urban Outfitters! (1, 2)

I hope you all love these retro styles as much as I do! Let me know what you think in the comments below! Thanks so much for reading; Sending lots of good vibes. xx

Winter Makeup Trends

Start off with a good, extra hydrating moisturizer like CeraVe $12 or Pond’s Nourishing Creme $10, apply a light foundation and concealer, then contour and highlight with e.l.f.’s Studio Baked Bronzer in Bora Bora $3 for a healthy glow and top off with your favorite lip balm for a hydrating, natural look. Use NYX’s Eyebrow Set $6 to fill in and accentuate your brows like Lily Collins in the third photo.

These are just a few of my favorite trends, and I will probably write a post about Holiday Makeup Looks very soon! Don’t forget to use a good moisturizer during this dry winter season! Please let me know any suggestions you may have. Enjoy! xx
